About Us

Good Shepherd Catholic College maintains a proud tradition of providing opportunities for young men and women to achieve to their best and is most concerned that students are encouraged to grow academically, socially, emotionally, spiritually and physically. The staff of the College recognises the importance of the holistic development of young people as life-long learners who will make a difference in being a presence of Christ in our world.

We are a co-educational Year 8-12 Catholic College of 360 students, 35 teaching staff and a total of 51 staff. ?Good Shepherd Catholic College? is closely aligned to the Good Shepherd Parish and is administered by the Catholic Education Office of Townsville. From 2004 the College commenced Year 11 schooling and Year 12 students were welcomed from 2005.

The addition of Year Twelve in 2005 has greatly enriched Good Shepherd Catholic College. The senior curriculum offers senior students eighteen Authority and Authority Registered subjects to cater for their diverse needs, as students prepare for entrance to university or employment. The College has collaboratively initiated a Work Readiness Program to provide options for students to participate in Work Sampling, Work Experience, Industry Placement or School Based Apprenticeships. From 2005, Catholic education offers schooling from pre-school to year twelve. The inclusion of senior schooling has greatly enriched teaching and learning from year eight through to year twelve and compliments the technologically rich curriculum offered by the College
